REP's concept for the Oak Hall Pavilion, located within the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, St. Petersburg, Florida, centers around the dogtrot, also known as a breezeway house or dog-run. The dogtrot style was common throughout the Southeastern U.S. during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The Oak Hall Pavilion plan bookends an open-ended central breezeway with two conditioned multipurpose rooms - all under a common roof shelter. The Pavilion purposes zero interior corridors and connecting all programmed spaces directly to the exterior. By establishing a precedent that all passive occupation and circulation of the pavilion is to be left unconditioned, the pavilion becomes more a performance platform presenting the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve entirely through the act of ingress and egress.
REP, Renker Eich Parks Architects along with George F. Young are among the consultants with EMP Industries selected proposal. REP looks forward to assisting EMP Industries and The City of St. Petersburg with this development.
