Citrus County Courthouse
Inverness, Florida

The now restored courthouse was constructed in 1912 of fireproof materials, on a very tight budget. The restoration work progressed in six phases beginning in 1992 and completed in 2000. It was necessary to replicate the courtroom woodwork based upon minimal physical evidence and photographic evidence from the Elvis Presley film, "Follow That Dream". The work consisted of replacing woodwork, marble trim, cast stone trim, plaster work and all utility services such as plumbing, electrical and air conditioning. The exterior brick facades were re-pointed, clay tile roofing replaced and the copper cupola repaired. The building is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
