Located on a secluded island facing Terra Ceia Bay near the Gulf of Mexico. This home was conceived with the Florida Vernacular in mind. The clients admired the houses in Key West and Seaside. Therefore this house was designed with a large two story clerestory leading to a widows walk. All the major spaces revolve around the clerestory including the master and guest bedrooms opening into this two story space. The widows walk has become the focal point of the design with visitors migrating up the spiral staircase to enjoy the spectacular sunrise/sunset views of Terra Ceia Bay and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. This house has become an island favorite with the neighbors, and is now referred to as the “Wedding Cake House”.
